Poems written for the Midsummer night festival

Original Work by amanda.faith

Status: extracted from various role plays, banners and quotes.

For the Bon fire

It's alluring blaze
Attracts your gaze
You feel drawn
Closer to this bon-
Fire burning bright
Casting some light
Onto your deepest Desire
Your attention is all you require
To unlock that secret -
It's for you to keep it.

As Oberon

In reply to Helene Declos' wish

A friend is what you wished for
And a friend is what you'll get.
Be it human or forest creature,
Guard dog or bat.
Though my spell is only temporary
Perhaps you would agree
That by the end of tonight when it wears off
You'd have made a new friend, oei?
From vicious enemy to complete stranger
A hero or a crook
When they see you my dear child,
Their attention you'd have hooked.

In reply to Laura Marie Johnson's wish

Star light, star bright
The first prince you shall see tonight
Will be the one who will hold your hand
And take you to another land
My spell is potent,
My Power strong
But this charm won't last
Very long
So make your move
Whilst you still can
Take this chance
To get your man
They can't resist
The hand of fate
So do not fear,
Go, pick your mate.

Continuation from reply to Laura's wish. To Ryuu and Damian.

Love is the wish of many hearts
As it will be your's as well
You will see cupids
And You will hear bells
For by this place
A Fae has passed
And by the power
Of this spell cast
One of you will be her prince tonight
While the other will lose the fight
But neither will give her up
Until thee passes by the arc.

In reply to Chol Hel's wish

Friends will come,
Friends will go
Things change faster
Than one can say 'Hey Ho!'
Memories linger,
Memories fade
Your painful memory will go
With this Faerie's aid!

In reply to Ryoko Shigami's wish

Two lions reside not far from here,
Both duelling over a maiden fair.
Fairer than she you may not be,
But you will claim a prince there.
The victor will be her's
As my spell has promised,
The loser will be left
And he will be compromised
With your company tonight,
Though he'll find it hard,
He will not refuse you this night
As decreed by this bard.

But beware of the arc
For it holds the antidote;
The sting against your happiness,
The hole in your love boat.
For once they pass by,
My charm will wear off.
And their attention to you
Will vanish faster than a cough.

In reply to Elizebeth Conners' wish

The night fast fades, growing weary with age
There's hardly time left for this play to be staged.
Try as I might, I cannot promise success.
Though I will try, and wish you the best.
My magic now dwindles, exhausted from work
But some power remains and silently lurks
Not too far off as I cast this charm
To grant your wish and may it no one harm.
Jarrold Glass, can be your's for tonight
If you listen well, and do this right.
Go forth to him and take his hand
And say this to him: "You are my man."
If fate is kind and faerie magic strong
He will be your's and nothing will go wrong.
But beware for the spell is but temporary
So do not go overboard or face the contrary.

Transforming Damian's costume

You who have the looks of dashing knight
Who captures the heart of every fair maid
Will this night be transformed
To what you are of make.
From chain of mail to breastplate
Sword and bravery's shield
Your clothes tonight shall
To this fairy king's charm yield.

As Ryuu

For Laura's poetry challenge (under the influence of Oberon's spell)

Surely my ears deceive me!
Am I so unworthy of your sight?
If I am, and it pleases you so,
I'd hang myself tonight.

If your love is for the other,
Kindly profess it so.
But even if you will love no other,
I will not, so easily let you go.

Be it riches or status,
Glory or a name
All of them I can give to you
And I swear, this is no game.

I would serve you on bended knee -
Bounded by love, I am your slave.
If you want the moon, the moon I would get,
All at your hand's single wave.

Now two lions reside before you
Of which you can pick only one
And I pray that you my love
Will not regret in the end what you've done

Reknown throughout for bravery
We have no qualms to fight
We'd fight to the death even
When the loser will not see daylight.

But as it is that you demand
That we lay our swords to rest
We have done as you commanded
And are here to take your test.

A faerie you guise yourself to be
But an angel you truely are
But you, my angel of light, you have to chose
Which heart, you would rather marr

There are no words to describe my love
For it is an emotion felt, not said
Felt and accompanied by actions
For actions speak louder than words my pretty maid

Do not be fooled by appearance
For all that glisters is not gold
The true value of things is what lies inside -
A true saying of old.

There are no words with which I can describe
Your beauty, in and out
You shine with a light, from deep inside
A light which brightens my dark.

Forgive my uncourtly intrusion
And my inability to speak
Though I am no eloquent poet
I come before you and profess my love, meek.

I would treasure you with all my heart
A love that past compares
With any other that has existed in this world
Be it here, or anywhere.

So please, please my angel
Honour me by decending today
Decend from your glories from above
That is all your humble pilgrim can say.

In reply to "if he loves another"

There is no other whom my heart beats for.
No other whom I live this life for.
Save one madonna, this faerie here -
My angel of light, my world's core.

In reply to who is Debora

Who is Debora? This maid of whom you speak?
Who's name lingers in my mind, just out of reach.
How can I hurt her if I know her not?
Pray fair maiden, explain what you preach.

In reply to Debora Ajdelsztajn after Laura's confession

Forgive me if these words hurt you
But I fear I do not recall
Of whom you are aside from your name
Pray, enlighten me withall.

Methinks if her confession is true
There must be an antidote to this curse
A playful prank, the granting of the wish
Of a girl it's worse.

Too many hearts have been hurt tonight.
And confussion raises it's ugly voice.
Negative emotions rear their ugly heads,
And our actions follow without much choice.

I plead with you my princess,
To tell me of whom you are.
To jolt my memory, help me recall
This memory which the spell bars.

In reply to the idea of leaving the ball

Oei mademoiselle,
Take me to that place you speak
I cannot bare another moment here
I cannot take the heat

The tension here is rising
A conflict of which I want no part
Something has hurt hearts tonight
With the precision of a dart

Something tells me I know the answer
And yet I cannot coax
That information that we both desire
That seems to be a hoax

Pray I beg of you, take me away
My words have began to falter
Sense and logic is fading
And with it, my memories altered.
